Of the two styles of hip hop you did, did you prefer lyrical hip hop (Bleeding Love) or more hard-hitting, comical hip hop (Control)? - Mandie
- Definitely hard hitting although unfortunetly there wasn't a whole lot of choreography in the last one, but I really like Shane Sparks hip hop and anything really groovy and hard hitting, just not popping ha cause I'm not the best at that.
Hey Chels, do have any favorite movies, music, etc? - Millzerz
- But i love comedies haha, and a ton of music!!! Like everything but all time favorite fav band is Third Eye Blind. John Mayer, John Legend, Missy Higgins ... the list goes on.
We heard about your knee injury during the show, how did that happen?
- During the top ten week, I had an injury with my LEGS not knees. I had an eight o clock three hour practice for my jive and didn't get a whole lot of sleep, didn't eat anything that morning, drank very much water for the past couple days and my body was just very weak at that point. I went to practice and basically worked my legs until I couldn't lift them anymore so I had to take a break and didn't finish out practice. Then I went home and took a long nap before practice with Sonya so I thought I was ok, so I went to practice and did it full out for three hours which was a mistake. The next morning I woke up and couldn't lift my legs out of bed unless I lifted them up with my arms. We had dry blocking on stage all day where I was struggling to lift my legs up let alone dance. They had the massage therapist come and the medic by my side the whole day. Long story short I woke up the next morning still hurt but I had a lot of prayers behind me and by the time the performance came the adrenaline kicked in and I danced and it hurt like hell but I got through it hah.
Could you please tell me what the cherry tricks that you and Cat were talking about are? - mon.amourette
- I taught Cat at one of our kiss off dinners how to tie a knot with a cherry stem and we would have contests of who could do it faster. They say you're a good kisser if you're good at it aha.
What were your favorite dances that you were not in? - Morgan
- Katee and Joshua's Slow Dancing in a Burning Room was my favorite of the season. It's absolutely incredible and the way Katee dances in that is so amazing. Plus I love that song.
What is something that we wouldn't know about you just by watching the show? - Jasmin
- Haha uh ... well I didn't make my ninth grade dance team and I flunked dance company in high school haha but only because the teachers in both didn't like me. I was a trouble maker.
Do you watch American Idol? - Ashley
- Yea, I love David Archuleta.
I love to read, so I was just wondering what some of your favorite books or authors are? If none, possibly a favorite quote?
- Ya I love the Twilight books. I'm going to marry Edward somehow in my dreams maybe.
What was your favorite group performance? - Brittany
- The Rose by Mandy.
What is your absolute favorite place to be, like a relative's house, park, store, vacation spot, a certain city ... ? Thanks! - Christina (XT)
- I love being home with my family. I love the canyons here in Utah. I always take drives by myself and listen to music, and this place called Sundance up the canyon. I have a lot of memories there.
Do you have past favorite SYTYCD contestants? - Andrew
- Ya I am good friends with Ali and have always admired her dancing, so her definitely.
Chelsie, which partner did you enjoy dancing with on the show the most? - Tiki
- Mark!!!
What is your favorite clothing store to shop at/your favorite clothing brand?
- Anything really. Savers to Abercrombie. Don't care just as long as there are cute things there.
What did you like the most about growing up in Utah?
- The good people and growing up in a family oriented community and the canyon. :-)
If you weren't a dancer, what would your dream job be, or what job would you most picture yourself doing? - Andrew
- I have always really enjoyed fashion. I would love to be a buyer for a clothing store.
So glad they wished you a happy birthday on TV, how did you spend the day?
- Uh I just danced all day. I have danced every year on my birthday so I'm used to it now hah. Actually one year I was sick and went to dance anyway and I over worked myself and passed out haha that was a good birthday.
Just wanted to know ... is there someone that you wanted to partner, but never got the chance to?
- Ya Will and I really wanted to partner each other. He would have been good to have my style of ballroom with.
Are you considering taking a stab at Broadway at all?
- Um not sure, I have had some agents in Hollywood call me about acting so I might take a whack at that, but not sure about Broadway 'cause it's so hard to support yourself in New York on a Broadway salary.
What were you feeling when Mia said she wanted to stab you because you were so gorgeous?
- Haha I thought it was hilarious. I love Mia.
If you weren't a ballroom dancer, what would your dance style be?
- Contemporary for sure!!! I was really sad 'cause I never got to show what I can do in contemporary on the show, but hopefully one day people will see.
Did you guys know what the dance selections for the finale were before the show? They were danced so flawlessly so I'm wondering if you guys had time to rehearse for them.
- Ya, kind of.
If you could have one date with any celebrity, alive or not, who would it be and why? <3
- Hahaha uh .... I dunno really. Probably some comedian. Just 'cause I love to laugh and poeple who make me laugh.
Did you ever get nervous about performing on stage and on TV?
- I always got nervous, but not too bad. It was more excitement than anything. The crowd was always amazing and it was so fun performing on the stage.
What is your favorite Missy Higgins song?
- Where I stood and The Special Two ... but all are friggen amazing.
Chelsie, who was your favorite choreographer to work with and why?
- I can't choose a fav. They were all great.
Chelsie, what's your favorite food/type of food?
- Grapes.
Did you watch the Olympics and which events/athletes did you most enjoy?
- Ya Shawn Johnson is the bomb.com!
