Day One:
Judges we know were there (so far): Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Mia Michaels, Adam Shankman, Lil' C, Debbie Allen and Napolean and Tabitha D'Umo.
Nappy Tabs choreographed the hip hop round.
In the teal hoodie is contemporary dancer Rey Barcena. Tap dancer Bianca Rebel(sp?) is also the girl left of Tabitha.
Twins Anthony and Antwain who auditioned last season spotted in the second row. Funkanometry SF hip-hop dancer Brandon Lumlao spotted behind in between Anthony and Antwain's heads.

9:00 PM: The dancers started at 5:30am it's starting to get late. They are now about to get the results of their hip hop. 44 were cut earlier today.
12:46 AM: Just finished, that's a long day. 96 dancers cut today. That's a lot!!?

11:00 AM: I have been 'miss-tweeting" you. We have only cut 76 dancers with 96 left for today. We have started this morning's audition with ballroom.
So day two of Vegas starts with ballroom! Jean Marc Generaux and his wife Frances are teaching.
The dancers line up probably for a pep talk before starting the ballroom round.
Can anyone recognize these dancers?!
2:06 PM: 16 cut in ballroom audition.
4:40 PM: Jazz this afternoon 80 dancers left.
Choreographing and teaching for the jazz round, Sonya Tayeh is back for season five!
Day Three:
The dancers were all up choreographing for the group choreography rounds says Nigel.
Mia Michaels is choreographing the contemporary round!
7:39 PM: Okay 1 more day to go and we need to lose 8 boys and 15 girls. We have something very new and exciting for the show tomorrow.
I wonder what this very new and exciting thing is. I guess by the numbers, currently there are 18 boys and 25 girls left in the competition; they've cut it down to 43 dancers!
Day Four:
Nigel tweeted this morning that he's ready for tears and that the dancers have brought water to the desert. How sad.
Today's audition round was West Side Story with Tyce DiOrio.
And pirouette!
They're going to be cutting 16 girls today.
Will Wingfield (S4) came to assist Mia yesterday and I guess stayed for today too.
Cat is in the house!

Tribute to BSYTYCD: Blogging SYTYCD
The original SYTYCD blogger Ted recently published an update post on his now-deceased blog, Blogging SYTYCD. As many probably remembered, BSYTYCD was tremendously popular and successful and is the main reason why I started SYTYCDism with Alanna in the first place. After BSYTYCD took a hiatus towards the end of season four, I felt there needed to be a comprehensive news source, like BSYTYCD, to feed the So You Think You Can Dance fans.
Unfortunately Ted will not be reviving BSYTYCD, and linked SYTYCDism as the blog to go to for all your SYTYCD news. Thank you Ted for the plug and thanks for being the sole inspiration behind SYTYCDism!

Apparently ABC is putting the future of Dancing with the Stars in the viewers hands with its inaugural Pro Dancer Competition.

We are putting the future of "Dancing With The Stars" in YOUR hands with our inaugural Pro Dancer Competition. Six professional dancers will compete for the opportunity to be part of the next season of "Dancing With The Stars".
After each performance, judges will comment on the dances but you, the fan, will vote and decide who will stay and who will leave! Phone lines and online polls will open at the top of each performance show so that fans can vote for their favorites. Phone lines will stay open for 30 minutes after the end of the show. Online voting will remain open until noon (Eastern Time) the next day.
Here's how it works:
Week 1: Six dancers will dance. Each fan can vote up to 6 times during the voting period. The female dancer and the male dancer with the fewest votes will be eliminated.
Week 2: Four dancers will dance. Fans can vote up to 4 times during the voting period. The dancer with the fewest votes, whether male or female, will be eliminated.
Week 3: Three dancers will dance. Fans can vote up to 3 times during the voting period. The dancer with the fewest votes, whether male or female, will be eliminated.

SYTYCD's favorite brother/sister pair, Benji (S2) & Lacey Schwimmer (S3) have been cast in the movie Leading Ladies with SYTYCD choreographer Melanie LePatin!
-Melanie plays Sheri, an unhappy mother who is living vicariously through her daughters.
-Lacey plays Melanie's youngest daughter, Tasi, an amateur ballroom circuit dancer who ends up dealing with an unplanned pregnancy.
-Benji plays Cedric, Tasi's gay ballroom partner.

SYTYCDism is under construction for the next couple of days
Important update: SYTYCDism.com (without the www) now works!
To make up for my poor posting performance in the past few weeks, I am revamping the site COMPLETELY. I have been thinking about it for awhile now, hence the March template being up for so long, but I've finally decided to go through with it. This was originally set to be released when season five starts (May 21) but as usual, I had the urge to just put it up early. A lot of features aren't up and won't be up for a couple of days, and comments aren't working right now. But some programmers are going to try and fix it! Thanks for your patience. - Comments are now up and running. I'm using a new commenting system now under IntenseDebate because Disqus wasn't working with this template anymore for some strange reason. It's practically the same thing, but I think it's a bit prettier in a way.
Things to be done in the next few days:
- Get Google Calendar back up.
- Make threads for quick links to dancers' homepages, MySpace, Twitters, etc.
- Incorporate the old SYTYCDism banner somehow.
- Upload Chelsie Hightower welcome video?
- Perhaps add in a semi-transparent SYTYCDism background.

To make up for my poor posting performance in the past few weeks, I am revamping the site COMPLETELY. I have been thinking about it for awhile now, hence the March template being up for so long, but I've finally decided to go through with it. This was originally set to be released when season five starts (May 21) but as usual, I had the urge to just put it up early. A lot of features aren't up and won't be up for a couple of days, and comments aren't working right now. But some programmers are going to try and fix it! Thanks for your patience. News should be posted as usual though!

Gendance.com recently did an interview with s4's Courtney Galiano. She answered questions about being on the show, things that inspire her, and what she enjoys doing besides dance. Here's a preview:
The hardest part about being on SYTYCD was…
The hardest weekend of not only the show but also, my life, was the Top 4 weekend! We had to learn 6 routines in a short amount of time. We were physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted by the time the show came around. Katee and I joke now about how we used bags of frozen carrots, peas, shrimp (anything that was frozen) to ice our aching bodies. We were in rehearsal and the simplest things just made us cry. It’s amazing how much your body can handle; it was definitely more of a mental challenge. What's important is that we all worked hard, pushed through together and made it!

Hey Guys!
Hey Everyone!
Finally, another blog from me! Sorry for not having time in the past weeks for blogging here. I've been busy as you probably already knew with practicing and all that good stuff.
Anyway, down to the serious stuff. Last week being in the bottom 3 was absolutely scary. I thought for sure that Steve-O and I were toast LOL! However, you awesome fans saved us, and we are so happy! Thank you guys for being there and voting for us. It means a lot. So now were back this week, and we are going to try to bring it! I really hope that we pull it off and are not in the bottom 2 this week. It's scary being in that position! It's also soo sad to see Holly and Steve go, they were both entertaining and yeah, it does really suck for anyone that goes home, we all become one big family.
Next thing. Coming up sometime in the near future hopefully, LOL, I would like to do something like a questions blog or something like that. Just for fun, I would love to answer all your guys' questions so let me know what you think about that in the comments section of this blog.
