SYTYCD Season Five: Vegas Week

Let's start the season five blogging!

If you haven't added Nigel on Twitter yet, you can do so here! He's been updating his followers with Vegas week.

Day One:

Judges we know were there (so far): Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Mia Michaels, Adam Shankman, Lil' C, Debbie Allen and Napolean and Tabitha D'Umo.

Nappy Tabs choreographed the hip hop round.

In the teal hoodie is contemporary dancer Rey Barcena. Tap dancer Bianca Rebel(sp?) is also the girl left of Tabitha.





Twins Anthony and Antwain who auditioned last season spotted in the second row. Funkanometry SF hip-hop dancer Brandon Lumlao spotted behind in between Anthony and Antwain's heads.



Nigel's Tweets
9:00 PM: The dancers started at 5:30am it's starting to get late. They are now about to get the results of their hip hop. 44 were cut earlier today.
12:46 AM: Just finished, that's a long day. 96 dancers cut today. That's a lot!!?

Day Two:

Nigel's Tweets
11:00 AM: I have been 'miss-tweeting" you. We have only cut 76 dancers with 96 left for today. We have started this morning's audition with ballroom.

So day two of Vegas starts with ballroom! Jean Marc Generaux and his wife Frances are teaching.





The dancers line up probably for a pep talk before starting the ballroom round.



Can anyone recognize these dancers?!



2:06 PM: 16 cut in ballroom audition.



4:40 PM: Jazz this afternoon 80 dancers left.

Choreographing and teaching for the jazz round, Sonya Tayeh is back for season five!



Day Three:

The dancers were all up choreographing for the group choreography rounds says Nigel.

Mia Michaels is choreographing the contemporary round!



7:39 PM: Okay 1 more day to go and we need to lose 8 boys and 15 girls. We have something very new and exciting for the show tomorrow.

I wonder what this very new and exciting thing is. I guess by the numbers, currently there are 18 boys and 25 girls left in the competition; they've cut it down to 43 dancers!

Day Four:

Nigel tweeted this morning that he's ready for tears and that the dancers have brought water to the desert. How sad.

Today's audition round was West Side Story with Tyce DiOrio.



And pirouette!

They're going to be cutting 16 girls today.

Will Wingfield (S4) came to assist Mia yesterday and I guess stayed for today too.
