SYTYCD5: Nathan Trasoras Audition

Here's Nathan Trasoras, the boy who was too young. Auditioning at 17 years old, he wasn't old enough to compete during season five, but Nigel gave him a straight ticket to Vegas for season six! Nice center, I can tell he was a bit nervous at first as his first pirouette wasn't as solid as the proceeding ones, but he quickly picked up! Trasoras also used to dance with Kherington at Dance Precisions.

Due to contractual issues, it seems S3's Lacey Schwimmer had to decline taking part in the film "Leading Ladies" with S2's Benji Schwimmer and choreographer Melanie LaPatin. What a shame, but I'm sure something else amazing will come her way...

Video: Lauren Gottlieb dances in Glee premiere

Glee, which premiered a couple days ago, is a show about a group of kids from the Glee Club wishing to become talented in the field of theatre. I just finished watching the pilot and I fell completely in love with it, and I guess I will be keeping up with this show too. The pilot is free on iTunes if you want to download it!

But on the more SYTYCD side, Lauren Gottlieb (S3) was one of the backup dancers during the Rehab number. It might be hard to spot her but I was able to screencap her.

Though Glee's premiere was only a preview to the fall season, Glee will air on Thursdays right after the SYTYCD results show on FOX. How convenient is that?!

I guess I overslept and forgot to wake up and make a videos post! But a big thank you to Alanna for making her return with a great standout videos post. Here's a video of Kayla Radomski's audition because she was my favorite from the premiere. To those who are trying to figure out which artist is singing this Blackbird cover, I also have no idea and would like to know!

In my general speculation, the home footage implicates to me that she's in the Top 20 or gets pretty darn close. (Home footage usually implies such success: Kherington, Chelsie, etc.)

Natalie Reid:



I really, really, really loved this, and I think she has improved a lot since last year's audition. I'll be very surprised if she does not make the top 20 this year. It was so cute when she called Katee after her audition.

All I can say is, unbelievable! His strength, technique, form, everything! I loved this, and I'm sure he will make the top 20 this year. Brandon reminds me a lot of Will Wingfield from season 4.

SYTYCD Season Five: Auditions Schedule

I'm curious as to what cities will be shown on the premiere this Thursday, but for now we know some of the city pairings.

By inductive reasoning, I believe Miami and Memphis will be an audition episode, along with LA and Seattle. This leaves the two other cities -- New York City and Denver -- as the other pair. Since NYC was the first audition date in November 2008, I'm going to assume NYC and Denver will be shown first on the premiere.

Travis Wall Wins Choreography Award

On Monday, April 20th, 160 dancers competed in a choreography competition at The Joyce Theater in New York City. All proceeds benefited Dancers Responding to AIDS.

"'The Joyce Choreography Award' was given to Denise Wall’s Dance Energy’s 'It’s Going to be a Long Walk', choreographed by Travis Wall (s2). Travis’ choreography was honored for communicating solitude with chaos while showcasing the amazing artistic and technical ability of those on stage."
